Which one fits you
- Lower price, bigger screen, wind sensor: ACE. Wahoo lists a 3.8 in display and an integrated wind sensor; the ACE is $200 less than the Edge 1050 on the brand US stores.
- Crash alerts, Garmin Pay, Garmin Coach: Edge 1050. Garmin lists incident detection, Garmin Pay contactless payments, Garmin Coach plans and daily suggested workouts.
- Shimano Di2 gears: Edge 1050. Garmin lists Shimano Di2 Synchro Shift and SRAM AXS; Wahoo's ACE page lists SRAM AXS Systems but does not mention Di2.
- Lighter unit: Edge 1050 at 161 g vs ACE at 208 g.
- Wahoo KICKR at home: ACE. Wahoo's page lists ANT+ FE-C trainer control and KICKR workouts through the Wahoo app / SYSTM.
- Comparing more models: see GPS bike computers by price. Black Friday is 27 November; the Black Friday price watch is worth a look first.

Sources and notes
Where the sources disagree
- ACE dimensions. Wahoo's US store Features block says "4.9 x 2.8 x 0.8 in / 126 x 71 x 24 mm". The Tech Specs block on the same page says "4.9 x 2.8 x 0.8in 125x70x20mm". Both are Wahoo's page; we do not pick one for the table (size is not a table row).
- ACE weight wording. The Features block says "7.4 oz / 208 g"; the Tech Specs block says "7.4oz (208g)". These agree; the table uses 208 g.
- Edge 1050 battery bases. Garmin's product page says "Up to 20 hours, demanding use" and "Up to 60 hours, battery save mode". Garmin's owner's manual specs page says only "Up to 20 hr." without the saver figure. The table keeps both product-page figures.
What we could not confirm
- A like-for-like battery comparison. Garmin quotes "demanding use" and battery saver mode; Wahoo quotes one "up to 30 hours" figure with the footnote "Battery life can vary depending on usage, such as backlight brightness, GPS settings, and the number of connected sensors." Neither page gives a test method, so the hours are not directly comparable.
- ACE and Shimano Di2. Not mentioned on Wahoo's US store page we read. That does not mean it cannot; Wahoo just does not say there. SRAM AXS is listed under software integrations.
- Physical buttons on the Edge 1050. Garmin's Specs table lists Touchscreen; it does not call out separate buttons on the US product page we read. The table says Touchscreen.
- Out-the-door cost. Sales tax depends on your address. Garmin showed "Available to ship in 1–3 business days"; Wahoo's US page showed the price with a 1-year warranty line and no shipping dollar figure on the product block we captured.
Price checks and caveats
- Price checks: Garmin's US store showed the Edge 1050 (part number 010-02890-00) at $699.99 USD with no sale price, and "Available to ship in 1–3 business days." Wahoo's US store showed the ELEMNT ACE at $499.99; Wahoo's EU store (geo-redirect from the same URL) showed €479.99.
- Size: Edge 1050 60.2 x 118.5 x 16.3 mm; ACE see the dimensions conflict above. GPS: Garmin says "Multi-band GNSS", Wahoo says "dual-band". Both mean the unit listens to more than one satellite signal for better tracking near tall buildings and trees.
- In the Edge 1050 box, per Garmin: the computer, a flush out-front mount, a standard mount, a tether, a charging/data cable and documentation.
- In the ACE box, per Wahoo's US store: the computer, a premium aluminum alloy out-front mount (31.8 mm), a USB-C charging cable (24 in / 61 cm) and a 7.5 in (190 mm) tether. Wahoo notes the ACE "may require a separate mount, depending on your handlebar configuration."
- Why this pair: they are the large flagship touchscreen models from the two brands, $200 apart. We looked at Garmin Edge 1050 vs Hammerhead Karoo first, but SRAM's store still showed the Karoo as "Unavailable" on 6 November (also Unavailable on 2 November and 12 October).
